A newsroom tool that writes is only useful if you can explain what it did and why. These constraints are in the architecture, not in the marketing.
It reads sources, never your workspace
Facts come only from the public feeds you configured. Reporter has no access to account data, member details or anything personal — that boundary is structural, not a prompt instruction that a clever input could talk its way around.
Style from your work, facts from the source
Two separate inputs, deliberately. Voice is distilled from articles your journalists wrote; the substance of any given piece comes from the material it cites. Neither is allowed to contaminate the other.
Generated pieces never become exemplars
Articles Reporter wrote are excluded from the style pool. Without that rule a model gradually learns from itself and the house voice drifts into an average of its own output.
Every draft stops at review
There is no configuration that lets Reporter publish. The status machine puts generated articles into review and leaves them there until a person moves them.
Claims arrive with their evidence
Fact-checking runs against live web search biased toward primary sources, and each verdict carries the links. The editor is checking the work, not taking it on faith.
It keeps working when a provider doesn't
A primary model with three fallbacks behind it. If one degrades or rate-limits, drafting continues on the next rather than failing — deliberate redundancy, not a nicety.

Clusters carry a relevance score derived from how many independent sources are carrying a story and how fresh they are, so what rises is what's genuinely moving.

The per-workspace ceiling is set at 100 articles per rolling 24 hours — sized for a working newsroom rather than for occasional use.

Token spend is metered per workspace, per month and per provider, so the AI line on the invoice is something you can actually inspect.
